How They Began

In 1968, Woodniks were created in the rolling hills of Orinda, California. My Grandmother, Maud Deane taught my father, Bill, and his siblings Cokie, John and Susie how to find life and creative inspiration in the most extraordinary of living things. Weekly trips throughout Northern California for dried flowers, seeds, pods and tree bark of every kind quickly filled their childhood with endless Earthen lesson. They are some of the most inquisitive and creative people I know. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue their tradition in my voice.
